Identity Theft

Family, what is the meaning of identity? Dictionary.com says, “condition or character as to who a person or what a thing is; the qualities, beliefs, etc., that distinguish or identify a person or thing.” What about the meaning of theft? The same dictionary says "the act of stealing; the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods or property of another; larceny.” Basically, we’ve been robbed.

As girls growing into womanhood we were encouraged to become outside the home job seekers. I believe that if we really understood what was required of us as God fearing young ladies we would have taken much different paths going forward.

It’s not an easy thing living a Christian lifestyle in this world. The bible says, If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19 How difficult was it for the rich young ruler who had great possessions to withdraw his affections from his worldly treasure, even the promise of eternal life before him as his reward. But as God fearing women that would look different when it comes to our possessions because we wouldn’t take up with the things of the world. We would have an understanding that the fashions (the décor, rearing of children, etc.) of the world belong to the prince of this world which is the enemy of souls.

The bible says, Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it….Deut. 7:26. Now what are some of the things in our homes? Just take a moment and scan your house right fast. What do you see? Is this a place that Jesus and the holy angels of heaven would look forward to visiting? Does the Savior of souls show up at your home every Sabbath at sunset? What are some of the things on our temples (Bodies)? Is this body visited by Jesus on a constant basis? Or are we bearing false witness through our lifestyles, claiming to be Christians but looking like worldings?

I was cleaning my home one week for the Sabbath when my son asked me if we were having guests over for Sabbath lunch. I answered, Why? He said, “Because you’re cleaning like someone is coming over.” I said to him, “Yes, someone is coming and His name is Jesus.” We don’t understand who we were called to be as God fearing women. Did you know that the Israelites of old were given Dress Reform? That's right. They had to wear a blue ribbon around the hem of their garments which indicated to the other nations that they worshiped the God of heaven and according to the sanctuary, blue represented “Obedience.”

The question is asked, “Who can find a virtuous woman?” Webster defines virtuous as morally excellent; upright; and simple. Let's see, morally is defined as of or relating to principles of right in behavior; excellent is superior or very good of its kind; upright is marked by strong moral rectitude; and simple is free from vanity or modest. I don’t know about you but this is the type of woman I want for my sons. The bible brings out that her worth is far above rubies. How much is a ruby? It depends on how many karats you want because one karat can range between $500 to $15,000 each. This woman understands that her knowledge and wisdom comes from God and He equips her to do her duties in the family circle.

Don't waste another moment, ask God to recover your identity and then allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.

Go Forward!!!!
